Ten Things I’ve thought about in the last week

Filed under: My Life — Administrator @ 2:01 am

While we are awake,  ideas and thoughts come every few seconds, or in my case, every few minutes. (I’m either slow or lazy, I’m going with the last option.)   I thought it would be fun to each share some of those thoughts.

1.       I was watching the History Channel last night about the history of tattooing. One of the segments was a tour of a Japanese medical school where they had the skin of a Yakasu, the tattoos covered his entire body. They peeled off his skin.

~I thought,

Yuck, they peeled his skin off like a chicken!

What a beautiful tattoo. It flowed from one design to another.

My niece will love this and it just might change her mind about becoming a tattoo artist one day.

2.       I watched Stargate Atlantis on Friday and thought.

Damn, that Ronin is smoking hot.

3.       I reread Georgette Heyer – Faro’s Daughter

~I need to read this again just before I start back on my historical

  OMG, this is so funny

I wish she was still writing

4.         I wrote on my novella

~This isn’t strong enough, I need to rewrite this scene.

  I love Channon’s character ~ Sigh

There really isn’t a HEA, but there is a resolution and three storylines that will continue. I have introduced an unfulfilled simmering romance that will continue in the series.  Do I have too many characters whose first name begins with an A.  I don’t want to change any of them, don’t make me.

5.        ~ I wonder what my balance is on my this credit card?

6.       ~That doughnut was so not worth it.

7.       I went to the new HBO site for True Blood the series based on Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse vampire series.

~ I want to blow a poster size of that ad in the comic book.

~the Tru Blood commercial is a treat and I love the ending…suck it up.

I hope it is a good series and does the books justice.

8.       I was paging through the Sunday ads and thought.

~ these are the ugliest styles of clothing I’ve seen since 1970.

9.       ~Do I really need to launder my uniforms. Yes.

10.    ~What good are school equipment sales if they don’t have a decent note book that I like to write on. I hate the current cloths.

You noticed there were no earth shattering, conscious changing thoughts during the week. And Sadly those were the high points.  It’s your turn to give your top ten thoughts for the last week.

  1. Rhianna, you have a very busy mind! I had no idea that we are (supposed) to think that much… guess I ignore most of it. *sigh* You, on the other hand, have a great memory.
As to what I thought over the week ~ see there’s the “ignore it” again… but I do have some points to list ~ 10? maybe not.

    1. I’ve been watching, for the first time, Canadian Idol and I’m really enjoying it. Last week while watching it I got to thinking about these young people and their incredible talent…

~ pick one favourite? Nuh uh… no way! But there are three or four that I’d love to see win!

~ They’re all so darned young! But GOOD… I love the show!

~ It’s kinda sad that I’m drooling over a couple of the guys… (they ARE a little older than my son by a couple or three years), but hey, I don’t feel that much older and they are H-O-T…. *uh, yeah*

    2. Another show that I glommed onto is Rock the Reception… and there’s this one episode ~ the first that I watched ~ that I’ve become hooked on. The couple have faced some difficult times, but the bride (to-be) was diagnosed with breast cancer last December… and her fiancé asked her to marry him the day after the diagnosis….

~ first I got all teary, ’cause wow! What a guy.

~ this couple, Trycia and Mike, are wonderful… the song they picked to be their first dance was M.C. Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This“… I laughed & cried and then watched it all over again… (uh yeah I taped it)

    3. Due to the above two points I listed, one of my thoughts is /was :0)

    ~ I’m such a dweeb! LOL

    4. Last week was my first week back babysitting ~ after two weeks of holidays (where I stayed home and did very little… but relaxed and loved it). So when my little ‘uns came back it was

    ~ geez, I missed them!

    ~ holy crow… they’re BUSY! (Tristan’s 3 and his sister Charlie is 1)

    5. My youngest daughter’s birthday was June 29, followed by my next youngest’s birthday June 30. Teresa (the youngest) turned 16 (Meagan’s 21 now)… and all of a sudden I thought:

~ Holy Cr@P!… Teresa’s 16!! She’s going into grade 11… two more years of school… What the Hey!? (Slow? Yep, that’s me!)

    6. My oldest daughter, although second child, is in Cairo and has been for over 6 months now. She’s having the time of her life ~ teaching English to school-aged children, has a boyfriend, shares an apartment with her best friend and is travelling all over the place. On her Facebook page she decided to post the following: There was an earthquake that measured 6.5 … and I slept through it. My thoughts:

~ OMG! I’m really trying not to get all freaked out just how far she is from home, where she’s living, how FAR she is away from home and how long it’s been since I’ve seen her (almost a year now… *Sob*)…

~ But then I remind myself that bad stuff can happen anywhere, I trust Lisa ~ she’s a very level-headed 22½ ~ and I’m so happy for her, experiencing something that she’d never find anywhere else

    ~ I MISS MY BABY! (okay, I’m trying… really!)

    6. I’m part of the eHarlequin 2008 100,000 book Challenge:

~ Can I read any faster? LOL (I’m a little behind my numbers last year ~ but then I am babysitting more or less full-time this year. Heh…

    7. I should be out in the gardens weeding and cleaning out nuisance plants… but it’s been, for me, too hot…

    ~ I DON’T like heat… and summer’d be better in winter ~ without snow or freezing… (rather a counter-productive argument)

    8. Music… I’ve been going crazy over music from new artists lately. It started innocently enough ~ I thought ~ on MySpace… I’ve been getting CD’s and downloads from the artists and bands that I love…

~ is it ever going to end? I hope not, ’cause I’m loving it!

    9. ….

~ I need more plastic cases & shelves to organize my books!

~ And I need to get more ebooks on my eBookwise… I love being able to read my ebooks somewhere other than sitting at the computer.

    10. ….

~ Where the *heck* has July gone? Sheesh…

Uh so, yeah… I like your list much better Rhianna! Sounds more grown up… and interesting. This was fun!

    Comment by KathyK — July 28, 2008 @ 7:08 pm

  2. That was very grown up, Kathy. You talked about your children, which I expect are in your thoughts often. Random thoughts in reaction to things in our lives are the ones that I tend to remember.

~ And I need to get more ebooks on my eBookwise… I love being able to read my ebooks somewhere other than sitting at the computer.

    I want one. *envy thought*

~It’s kinda sad that I’m drooling over a couple of the guys… (they ARE a little older than my son by a couple or three years), but hey, I don’t feel that much older and they are H-O-T…. *uh, yeah*

I know, I know! I have been thinking the same thing. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but I’ve been beholding a lot of hot men.

~ Where the *heck* has July gone? Sheesh…

I keep thinking that I’m glad to see it almost over. My day job was busy and required a lot of mind power.
This year is not the greatest according to my planets and I’ll be happy to see the end of it, and bring on a good year.
I’ll miss seeing my niece when school starts again, she is a treat to be around.

I suppose I have some thinking to do…Meh!

  3. I was too stressed this week to have many random thoughts as opposed to what I have to think about. Also, it’s pretty much an insane asylum in my head, so I’ll try to come up with something coherent.

    1. I wonder if wearing black nail polish on my fingers and toes will tick my mom off? Hope so.

    2. I’d really love to bitch slap that 16 year old snooty sales clerk in the Gap.

    3. What’s up with that 40 something guy who’s always power walking with his dad at he mall?

    4. Should I wait to buy my ticket to Japan until next month? If I do, the price could go up, but I just spent over $1000 on tickets and I’m broke. What to do?

    5. Hope my sisters like the matching silver ankle bracelets with birthstones that I made to commemorate the first time we will be together in years.

    6. Need to come up with a good excuse to log onto my own computer instead of my mom’s cause I don’t want her to know about my blog, or anything about me really.

    7. Watching The Colbert Report

~~Steven Colbert is so hot! I’ll bet he looks really good naked. I want to lick him all over, especially certain places. (shhhh…don’t tell DH this one.)
~~is it cheating to fantasize about sex with someone else?
~~DH is the only one I really want though, so it’s ok.

    8. Is DH an Alpha, Beta, or Gamma? What am I?

    9. Reading Amorous Woman

~~ should I do a review? This book is hitting way too close to home for comfort.

    10. It would be so nice to have an iPhone right now.

PS. I saw that program on tattoos, and it was gross. I have a pic of some Yakuza wearing just a rope thong with their bodies all covered in tattoos. It’s really rather nice actually. Plus, even though they aren’t that nice looking, they have the cutest fannies.

  4. Hi Leah,

You should share your photos. I’m all up for cute fannies.

I tried to comment on your blog this last week and it wouldn’t let me. I expect that was on my end, but I am still a fan of it and check it out every few days.

~Is DH an Alpha, Beta, or Gamma? What am I?

You are an alpha, no question in my mind.

~It would be so nice to have an iPhone right now.

I don’t even have an IPod, so an iPhone would not be first up on my list. (I do have a philips mp3 player with mega gigabits, but I find that I don’t use it much. I listen to cd’s in my car, on my computer or at work on a cd player in my office.

Besides, I’m trying to minimize the cell phone use, they are doing new studies on brain cancer and cell phones and the longer you have it to your ear the higher the chance of damage. Since I am completely deaf in one ear, I always use my left ear and I worry now. Or at least I am now after seeing a news report on it last week.

~I’d wait till next month on the Japan tickets. Look at gas prices, they are down a bit already and it’s only been three weeks since they reached that all time high.

So what is up with Washington state now charging 20cents a plastic bag? Do you need your Trader Joe bag back? Teasing…It’s mine, it’s mine!!

~The silver ankle bracelets sound lovely and I expect the simple fact that you made them will be enough for them to be special to your sisters.

~I wonder if wearing black nail polish on my fingers and toes will tick my mom off?

I think black nail polish is fun. But, I find that almost anything out of the ordinary will piss off moms.

I love hearing from you guys, keep it coming.

  5. For some reason Rhianna, I can’t see your last comment on your blog, but it shows on google reader, so I’ll just copy and paste from reader to comment on your comment.

I don’t even have an IPod, so an iPhone would not be first up on my list.

I rarely use my phone. I actually hate talking on the phone and only use it for calling long distance, family, or a quick call here and there. I almost always have all my minutes leftover. But, on this trip and in the past, I usually bring my computer, iPod, cell phone and eBookwise. With the new iPhone I could log onto the net, have some of my music, download some ebooks to it and it would be only one small item as opposed to all that stuff. Very convenient.

Since I am completely deaf in one ear, I always use my left ear and I worry now

Yes, I can see how that would be a major concern for you. I’ve noticed that my hearing is getting bad and I have to ask people to repeat stuff. I play my iPod way too loud and have the in the ear buds, and yet I have to have music when I’m mowing the lawn, or blowing the driveway, so I have to crank it way up. Very bad, I know.

You are an alpha, no question in my mind.

Really? LOL I’m so the first person to back down and kiss ass, especially around alpha women. *snort* I hate conflict.

~ these are the ugliest styles of clothing I’ve seen since 1970.

Oh God, the 70’s were the worst. Although I’m thinking the 80’s weren’t much better with fashion. I love the 90’s any kind of fashion goes. I stick with timeless clothes. Jeans and tailored shirts/blouses/t-shirts. It’s very easy that way.

So what is up with Washington state now charging 20cents a plastic bag? Do you need your Trader Joe bag back? Teasing…It’s mine, it’s mine!!

Well, I’ve been using my own bags for a long time and have many. I never understood why in the US they gave bags for free anyway. When I lived in Europe you always had to pay for a bag. So everyone there uses their own.

The only problem is that we use those bags for double bagging the kitty litter and now we’re gonna have to buy them. *sigh*

    Have a nice week.:)

  6. I am going to have to learn some HTML. I can’t seem to get my text to bold or any normal tweeks, even when I write it up in word that way and cut and paste. what’s up with that?

I so hate the cloths right now, nothing looks good on me at all. Of course, that is a weight issue. And I can’t really find decent talored looks either, because they just are putting out much, unless you want to spend a small furtune. Which I don’t because I wear scrubs so much. I do have my jeans and a few decent shirts.

I too consider myself the great compromiser, though I tend to only kiss ass to my big bosses. I don’t like conflict, though I don’t back down either. No kidding, I am the first to say I’m wrong and can be convinced of a different opinion with a good aurgument.

    You have a great week.

  7. Rhianna— html lesson # 1

When you post to your blog in comments, you have to type in the tags before and after that which you need to highlight. You can’t just do it from word, it won’t work because it’s a separate application and the blog won’t recognize it.

Since you don’t have preview, I’ll try to show it to you but it might not work. If not I will email the instructions to you.

To italicize you need to put the:

left arrow at the beginning of what you want to italicize, then left arrow after the sentence you want italicized. Like this:

    For bold:

  8. Ok, It didn’t work. I will email it to you.

  12. Oh, and Rhi-rhi, how could you expect a little human skin chillin’ on a manikin to turn me away from tattooing?

    Comment by Haley — July 31, 2008 @ 1:32 am

  13. Yes, you are related to me! I questioned Colbert too, but you got love a man with a sense of humor. It can make up for a lot of other downfalls. Now, go to bed!

    rhi rhi

    Comment by Rhianna — July 31, 2008 @ 2:33 am

  14. Hey, hey, hey… ladies, it’s almost 3 AM and have to get going and now I have to defend Steven Colbert’s hotness? What, you guys don’t think he’s hot? *snort*

Ok, I give you that he’s not hot in the classical sense. But dude is seriously funny, extremely intelligent, completely out there and that’s a huge turn on. And sorry, but I loves me some really clean cut geeky looking guys. What can I say? I just don’t go for beefcakes or classically pretty boys. *cough*Brad Pitt*cough* Yawn…Zzzzz…

I gotta have me a guy I can talk to and have a decent conver with. Plus, you just know he’s gonna be very creative where it counts because he has to make up for it. Besides which, juicy things come in plain brown paper wrapping with no markings. :P

Also hot: John Stewart, Christopher Gorham, and…Clark Kent. Screw Superman, I want Clark. :)

    Comment by MB (Leah) — July 31, 2008 @ 10:17 am

  15. I totally understand that a man that can make you laugh is a very precious thing. Unless his thing is a big laugh too. :0

Oh, I have always thought Jon Stewart is hot and I’m a fan of Chris Gorham ever since odessey five. Clark Kent on the other hand is a deceitful bastard…Just Kidding.

Sleep in today and have a good day.
